The head of the Gaza Municipalities Union, Yahya al-Sarraj, said on Saturday that the Gaza Strip is suffering near-total destruction of its sewage and rainwater drainage systems, due to a lack of the necessary tools and equipment for maintenance work.
Al-Sarraj warned of serious repercussions for the environmental and health situation, stressing that the continued deterioration of the infrastructure threatens to exacerbate the crisis unless urgent intervention takes place.
