The Ministry of Health in Gaza warns of the outbreak of meningitis

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip has warned of the danger of the spread of meningitis among the population, in light of the collapse of the health system and the exacerbation of humanitarian crises, stressing the urgent need to provide basic and preventive medical supplies to reduce the spread of disease and protect the lives of the displaced. And Ahmed Al-Farra, Director General of the Children’s Hospital at Nasser Complex in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, announced the discovery of 6 cases of meningitis since the beginning of this month, most of which are for children whose families descend from bad nutritional conditions. Al-Farra explained that malnutrition, weak immunity and forced displacement conditions are major factors behind the spread of the disease.
