Gaza: Imminent collapse of the health system; a slow death called “waiting”

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip reported that a large number of patients and wounded individuals attempting to leave the Strip are dying without being able to do so, as the Rafah crossing has been closed since Friday. The Ministry warned of an imminent collapse of the health system due to widespread shortages of medicines and medical supplies, and the inability of the remaining hospitals to meet the growing needs of patients and the wounded.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army continues to bombard various parts of the Strip, despite a fragile ceasefire.

Israeli artillery shelled different areas east of Gaza City and east of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, while also carrying out a demolition operation east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. This resulted in the death of a Palestinian in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood east of Gaza City, in an area outside the deployment and control zones of the Israeli army according to the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

The Israeli occupation army continues to violate the agreement daily by launching raids on various areas in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of 574 Palestinians and injuries to 1,518, most of whom are children and women, in addition to widespread material destruction.
