A sandstorm hits Gaza, exacerbating the suffering of displaced people in the Strip

A sandstorm struck the Gaza Strip on Saturday, prompting the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Gaza to urge residents to take necessary safety precautions against the effects of the dusty air mass affecting the Palestinian region.

The Directorate advised residents to avoid leaving their homes, shelters, or tents unless absolutely necessary, especially those with respiratory conditions. It also stressed the importance of wearing a cloth mask or a damp cloth over the nose when going outside and protecting the eyes from dust, particularly for those with eye allergies.

Residents were also advised to drink plenty of water and fluids after breaking their fast and throughout the night.

The Directorate emphasized the need to secure tents and tarpaulins to prevent them from being blown away, especially for those displaced along the beach and in coastal areas.
