A Hezbollah rocket hits a building in Nahariya, causing injuries

The Israeli army announced that a building in the settlement of Nahariya in the Galilee region of northern occupied Palestine was directly hit by a rocket fired from Lebanese territory on Monday evening.

Footage circulating online showed the moment the rocket struck, followed by an explosion, a fire, and extensive damage to the targeted building.

For its part, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, explaining in a statement that its fighters targeted the Nahariya settlement with rocket barrages, along with a swarm of attack drones.

The statement added that the operation was carried out “in defense of Lebanon and its people,” and in accordance with the warning the resistance had previously issued to the settlement’s residents. It noted that the attack took place at 6:00 PM on Monday.

Meanwhile, Israel’s Channel 15 quoted the army as saying that a field investigation confirmed that the rocket that struck the building was launched from Lebanese territory, and was not an interceptor missile as initially believed.

For its part, the Israeli police reported that the building was hit by a rocket barrage launched from Lebanon, while Israel’s Channel 13 quoted ambulance crews as saying that six wounded people were pulled from inside the building that was directly hit.
