Iranian Navy: We forced a container ship to retreat for lacking a transit permit for the Strait of Hormuz

Tehran – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced today that it forced the container ship “Celine” to retreat after detecting it attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz without obtaining prior permission.

The Revolutionary Guard Navy said in a release that the passage of any ship through the Strait of Hormuz requires full coordination with Iranian maritime sovereignty.

This measure is part of Iran’s ongoing procedures to regulate navigation traffic in the strait, which Tehran announced since the start of the American-Israeli war on it last February 28, as Iran requires obtaining prior permission for ships to transit and deals firmly with any ship violating these rules.
