The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health announced on Monday that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon since March 2 has risen to 1,247 martyrs and 3,680 wounded.
The Israeli aggression continues for the 29th consecutive day, amid a marked escalation in the pace of airstrikes and artillery shelling, targeting various areas in the south, resulting in more casualties and widespread damage to property and infrastructure.
In a previous statement, the ministry reported that an Israeli airstrike targeted the Al-Rahab area in the southern suburbs of Beirut, killing one person and wounding 17 others.
Meanwhile, the National News Agency reported that an Israeli airstrike on the commercial market in the city of Bint Jbeil resulted in the martyrdom of four people.
In a related development, the Lebanese army announced the martyrdom of one of its soldiers and the wounding of others as a result of an Israeli attack on a military checkpoint in the Al-Amiriya area of Tyre, in southern Lebanon.
This escalation comes amid the continuation and expansion of military operations, which threatens further deterioration in the humanitarian and security situation in Lebanon.
