Tehran announces a Japanese super-tanker crossed the Strait of Hormuz after direct coordination

Iran’s “Tasnim” news agency announced on Tuesday that a Japanese super-tanker crossed the Strait of Hormuz after prior coordination with Iranian authorities.

According to details, the tanker carries two million barrels of crude oil and had been anchored off the Saudi coast since late February, before the war broke out.

Ship tracking data revealed that the tanker in question is the “Idemitsu Maru,” a VLCC super-tanker flying the Panamanian flag and managed by the Japanese company “Idemitsu Tanker,” a subsidiary of the “Idemitsu Kosan” energy group.

The data showed that the tanker began sailing from northwest of Abu Dhabi on Monday evening, heading towards the Strait of Hormuz, and then changed its course towards the Iranian islands of Qeshm and Larak before crossing the strait eastward.

These developments indicate that Tehran holds the reins of the game and that the American blockade has only succeeded in harming the global economy and complicating navigation without achieving any notable victory.
