Iran reassures commercial ships transiting Hormuz: Our ports are ready for service and assistance

Iran’s “IRNA” news agency reported on Wednesday that Iran has announced its ports are ready to provide full maritime services and necessary support to commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz, hours after announcing the formation of a maritime authority to manage the strait.

According to the agency, this came in a message sent by Iranian authorities to commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz, which observers considered a reassurance message for navigation amidst escalating tension in the strait.

Iran had announced today the formation of an authority to manage the Strait of Hormuz and specified routes and instructions to ensure the safe passage of commercial ships through the strait, after coordination with them.
