New York Times: Hezbollah’s Drones Shook the Image of Israeli Superiority

The New York Times reported that Hezbollah’s fiber-optic drones have revealed unexpected vulnerabilities in the Israeli defense system and have shaken the image of Israeli technological superiority.

Exclusive Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

According to the newspaper, these drones have been used in recent weeks in a series of direct strikes targeting Israeli armored personnel carriers, tanks, and air defense systems, while the occupation army itself has acknowledged that the attacks have become almost daily and have resulted in the death and injury of a number of soldiers.

The New York Times affirms that “the impact of Hezbollah’s drone attacks has not been limited to military losses; they have shaken the image of Israeli technological superiority and raised growing concerns among occupation forces stationed in southern Lebanon.”

It is noteworthy that these drones used by Hezbollah are characterized by not relying on traditional radio signals; instead, they are connected to the operator via thin fiber-optic cables that gradually unwind during flight.

This makes them largely immune to electronic jamming measures that Israel previously used to down drones, according to the newspaper.
