Official media reported that the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Government of Change and Construction, Abdul Wahid Abu Ras, demanded the lifting of the siege on Sana’a Airport and the de-escalation of the economic war practiced by Saudi Arabia.

Abu Ras presented the proposal during a meeting with the director of the UN envoy’s office to Yemen, Mohammed Al-Ghanam, in the capital, Sana’a.

The Saudi move to activate the UN mediation came amid Yemeni hints of military options.

The UN move indicates growing fears of the situation exploding in light of the escalating tension in Yemen.
