Gaza: Warning about a worrying rise in miscarriage cases

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip warned of a worrying rise in miscarriage cases, attributing the noticeable increase in miscarriages and birth defects to the ongoing war on Gaza.

Pediatric consultant at the Ministry of Health, Ziad Al-Masri, said that the continuation of the war has greatly affected mothers’ health, leading to the birth of children with low weights and underdeveloped organs, as well as numerous miscarriages.

Residents of the Gaza Strip are facing a severe shortage of medicine, food, and basic necessities due to the ongoing tight Israeli blockade that has lasted for 3 years. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health expects miscarriage rates to exceed 70% during this year.
