Saudi factions were subjected to a new ambush in eastern Yemen on Saturday.
This coincides with the return of escalation by Emirati factions in the south of the country.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Tribal sources in Shabwa reported that “unidentified” gunmen attacked a military convoy of “Homeland Shield.”
The ambush occurred between the districts of Azzan and Habban, at the southern entrance to the capital Ataq, where Transitional Council factions are stationed.
The convoy was coming from Aden, where Saudi factions had carried out a process of withdrawing their factions from the city following its fall to the Transitional Council.
The goal, according to the sources, was to loot military equipment.
The casualty toll is not yet known.
The ambush in Shabwa is another manifestation of Saudi Arabia’s failure to impose its control over the UAE’s areas in southern and eastern Yemen, and another indicator of the extent of the Emirati factions’ ability to organize their ranks and deliver strong blows to their Saudi-backed adversaries.
