Tehran – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Official Iranian television confirmed today that the Strait of Hormuz “remains closed to all ship traffic,” reaffirming the continuation of the complete closure decision recently announced by the Naval Force of the Guard.
Iranian television stated that “the Strait of Hormuz remains closed to the movement of all ships.”
The Revolutionary Guard Navy had announced yesterday, the closure of the strait “temporarily until further notice, and until the end of United States interventions in this area,” affirming that “no ship will be allowed to pass.”
The continued closure comes after the most violent day in the confrontation between Tehran and Washington, which witnessed the widest Iranian response operation ever, targeting American bases in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar, in addition to targeting warships in the Sea of Oman and logistical support centers in the port of Duqm.
This continued closure of the strait – through which 20% of global oil supplies pass – represents a tremendous pressure on energy markets and the global economy.
