First Naval Operation Near Bab Al-Mandeb

Tension returned to loom over the Yemeni coast on Monday, with the collapse of the truce.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The southern region of Bab Al-Mandeb witnessed a new attack on a ship.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that “unidentified” armed men intercepted a ship 50 miles south of Aden port.

The authority did not clarify the status and fate of the ship and its crew.

No party has claimed responsibility.

Although the new operation in the Gulf of Aden comes within a frantic activity that has recently escalated in pace, its coincidence with the return of Yemeni-Saudi confrontations brings naval operations to the forefront in Yemen, especially following Sana’a’s hint at Bab al-Mandab as a new escalation card.
