Reports of an Emirati oil tanker being targeted off the Omani coast

Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Iran’s “Fars” news agency reported today that media sources have spoken of an Emirati oil tanker being targeted off the coast of the Sultanate of Oman.

The agency quoted its sources as saying that “media sources indicate that an Emirati oil tanker was targeted off the coast of Oman.”

It added that “an oil tanker flying the Liberian flag was attacked and was stationed in the UAE.”

This incident comes after a series of attacks targeting tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman, as the confrontation between Tehran and Washington over sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz continues.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) had earlier announced that a container ship sustained damage east of Oman, while Tehran affirmed that it “penalizes” ships that violate the transit rules it imposes.
