Transition from military to civilian targets… A frightening development in the American-Iranian war on its sixth day

The Iranian-American confrontations took a dangerous turn on Saturday, gradually shifting from military to civilian targets, amid anticipation of a serious escalation in the coming days.

Bridges, energy facilities, airports, and even water desalination plants have become targets for both sides.

Iranian forces called for the evacuation of Emirati airports and ports, most notably Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Fujairah.

The Iranian warning came following a wave of widespread attacks witnessed in several Gulf countries, in addition to Jordan and Iraq.

In Kuwait, the Electricity Authority declared force majeure, with several stations targeted, in addition to water desalination plants, along with American bases and headquarters in various parts of the country.

In Bahrain, Iranian forces threatened to strike the headquarters of artificial intelligence companies used by America for target acquisition. The threat came following new attacks that hit both civilian and military installations.

The bombardment also reached Jordan and areas in Iraqi Kurdistan, where opposition factions are based. America is arranging to use these as a spearhead in future confrontations.

The latest Iranian attacks came following a serious American escalation that included striking civilian targets such as tunnels, bridges, energy facilities, and water desalination plants across the country.

The bombardment also reached Saudi Arabia, where media reports spoke of strikes targeting Al-Kharj, which hosts the largest American refueling bases, and Yanbu, which has one of the most important ports on the Red Sea.

These developments come as America continues its military mobilization in the region, transferring aerial assets from Europe to bases in Israel, including dozens of refueling aircraft. American reports spoke of Trump’s tendency to escalate the bombardment to include energy facilities in Iran, while the latter vowed to retaliate in kind against any targeting of any country hosting American bases.
