American-Western Mobilization Amid Anticipation of Saudi Airspace Closure

Western countries began preparations on Tuesday for further Yemeni-Saudi escalation.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The United States issued a global warning to its citizens in the Middle East, including a request to prepare for the possibility of airport closures and flight suspensions.

Although the American warning did not specifically mention Saudi Arabia, the timing of the statement carried indications; Saudi Arabia is now the last air outlet in the Gulf given the halt in navigation traffic at the rest of the region’s airports, in addition to the high-level American warning coinciding with Yemen’s threat to expand its options against Saudi Arabia by striking airports, according to a statement from the Sana’a Foreign Ministry.

Concurrently with the American statement, France announced the suspension of its flights to Saudi Arabia.

An international airline had already stopped part of its flights to southern Saudi Arabia last week when Yemen launched operations against Abha Airport, one of five Saudi airports in the south.

These developments reveal the scale of international fears of the repercussions of Yemen’s decision to raise the level of confrontation with Saudi Arabia, which portends a new isolation for Saudi Arabia.
