Yemen redrew another scene in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, characterized by massive fires and unceasing smoke columns. So, how did this scene begin?

In mid-September 2019, Saudi Arabia awoke to a nightmare in the east, with the skies of cities filled with a huge cloud of smoke, while tongues of fire rose from several oil fields and facilities in the Bqayq and Khurais areas, which house the world’s largest oil refineries and play a key role in energy supplies.
The two areas are located south of Dammam and also contain oil fields.
Today, nearly 8 years later, the same scene is repeated, but in the west, where clouds of smoke and flames are still consuming oil facilities in Jizan and Yanbu, painting a new picture from the era of the Saudi aggression on Yemen and its repercussions, which have now turned against it.
What connects Bqayq, Yanbu, Khurais, and Jizan is that they all lie within the Kingdom’s territory, even if some are originally Yemeni. However, the scene currently being redrawn is represented by the Yemeni operations that targeted Saudi Arabia, whether in 2019 or 2026. Additionally, they are all oil regions containing refineries and export areas.
In 2019, the Bqayq and Khurais operation ended nearly 5 years of war and Saudi siege on Yemen. Riyadh rushed to seek a calm afterwards and indeed obtained an opportunity to exit the quagmire. However, today it seems that this opportunity is not available, especially as Yemen has confirmed politically and militarily that it will continue its operations until its full and unequivocal rights are restored, this time without ambiguity.
