Israeli shelling targets the outskirts of towns in southern Lebanon

Areas in southern Lebanon were subjected to artillery shelling by the Israeli army on Monday, coinciding with bombings carried out by the army in residential neighborhoods in the town of Markaba, in the Marjeyoun district.

The official Lebanese National News Agency reported that “the outskirts of two towns in the Marjeyoun district of southern Lebanon were subjected to Israeli artillery shelling, which led to fires breaking out in the targeted areas.”

It added that “the Israeli army carried out bombings in residential neighborhoods within the town of Markaba, amid the sound of successive explosions and plumes of smoke rising from the area.”

The agency also reported that an Israeli drone dropped a sonic bomb in the town of Mansouri, in the Tyre district, without any reported injuries.

It further noted that “Israeli drones flew over the capital, Beirut, and the southern suburbs.”
