Iranian Army Executes 14 Ground Operations in Northern Iraq and Dismantles Intelligence Networks Linked to the Mossad and CIA

The Iranian Army announced on Monday the execution of a series of qualitative ground operations in the Erbil and Sulaymaniyah provinces of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, targeting leaders and intelligence networks belonging to Iranian separatist and opposition groups.

The advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, Brigadier General Mojtaba Jafari, explained in statements that the army’s (23) Brigade carried out 14 ground operations targeting intelligence officials of separatist forces and their loyal Iraqi elements.

Brigadier General Jafari revealed the success of an Iranian force in assassinating the intelligence official of the opposition “Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran,” Soran Mohammad Zadeh, on June 27, in addition to eliminating another leader in the same party holding Iraqi nationality on July 10.

In a related context, the advisor revealed the execution of an operation by a special force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard inside Sulaymaniyah province on August 2, which resulted in the arrest of two Kurdish elements suspected of espionage for hostile parties on the border.

Jafari added that several armed groups were arrested in possession of advanced listening and espionage devices before being brought into Iranian territory, affirming that these elements were seeking to gather information on border points and pass it on to the Israeli “Mossad” and the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

These intensive military moves by the Iranian armed forces against the headquarters and movements of separatist groups in the Kurdistan Region come as Tehran monitors these parties’ cooperation with the American-Israeli aggression, their receipt of weapons, and attempts to prepare for inciting disturbances or carrying out attacks across Iran’s western borders.
