Yemeni operations enter their third week with force… New targets by land and sea

Yemeni forces escalated the pace of their operations against Saudi Arabia on Wednesday as the third week of the navigation ban decision and the activation of the siege-for-siege equation began.

On July 20, less than a month ago, Yemen began implementing the Saudi navigation ban decision. The first phase was limited to redirecting ships heading to Saudi ports, followed days later by naval operations involving strikes on Saudi ships, totaling about 3 in the first week. In the second week, the pace of operations escalated with land operations also recorded, targeting ports and oil facilities in Jizan and Yanbu on the Red Sea. Today, entering the third week, Yemen presents a new target bank, including the targeting of Najran Airport on Saudi soil, in addition to targeting another Saudi oil ship.

Although the new naval operation is the eighth of its kind in 3 weeks, according to the official spokesman for the Yemeni forces, its location in the far north of the Red Sea indicates that the operation—coming after the targeting of Najran Airport—is part of escalatory phases by Yemen that may include more target banks in the coming period.

During the confrontations with the Israeli occupation, the successive phases often took months before being launched. However, with Saudi Arabia, it seems different; it doesn’t take more than a week before Saudi Arabia is surprised by new operations. This is an indication that Yemen’s target bank is crowded, by land and sea, and its capabilities are very large, as it tries to empty many of them quickly.
