The occupation releases 37 detainees from Gaza and the Red Cross

Israeli occupation authorities released 37 detainees from the Gaza Strip on Sunday, including one woman.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) transported the released detainees through the Kerem Abu Salem crossing to Nasser Medical Complex, in an operation facilitated and organized by the ICRC.

The ICRC stated that since 2023, it has facilitated the transfer of more than 2,700 released detainees in this manner. At the same time, it emphasized that it continues to be denied access to detainees held in Israeli detention centers since October 2023.

The ICRC reiterated its demand that the occupation authorities inform it of the fate and whereabouts of all detainees and allow its teams to visit them and assess their conditions.

It stressed that international humanitarian law requires detainees to be treated humanely, provided with suitable detention conditions, and guaranteed their ability to communicate with their families, who are living in a state of extreme anxiety for their health and safety.
