Fox News: Bab Al-Mandeb turns into a new strategic challenge for Washington after Hormuz

Fox News stated that the rapid developments in the Red Sea have pushed Washington to reassess the risk map in the Middle East, with the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait turning into a new strategic challenge added to the Strait of Hormuz crisis.

Exclusive Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The network indicated in an analysis that the disruption of navigation in Hormuz has pushed Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries to increase reliance on Yanbu port for oil exports, making Bab Al-Mandeb a vital passage and a potential source of risk to the flow of energy supplies.

According to the analysis, Washington prefers to avoid a direct confrontation with Sana’a, which has imposed a naval blockade on Saudi navigation, given its preoccupation with the Hormuz crisis and its unresolved military situation.

It considered that opening a new front in Bab Al-Mandeb could complicate its regional calculations.

The network quoted American officials as saying that the administration of President Donald Trump is betting on Sana’a’s continued commitment to the ceasefire, as long as the US remains away from direct confrontation.

Analysts saw that the threat in Bab Al-Mandeb differs from the Hormuz crisis, as Sana’a, in their estimation, can exert long-term pressure on navigation without engaging in a direct naval confrontation.

Former US National Security Council officials warned that the continuation of the situation could push Washington to reconsider its regional strategy, especially with growing fears of sliding into a new military confrontation.
