International alert in Riyadh to discuss the Yemen crisis, and Britain describes the attacks on Saudi Arabia as complex

The Saudi capital witnessed on Thursday a mobilization of major powers amid escalating fears of a new phase of Yemeni escalation against Saudi Arabia.

The British Ambassador to Yemen, Abda Sharif, stated in a tweet that she participated in a group dinner that included the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Germany, the European Union, the US, in addition to Japan.

The meeting was dedicated, according to Ambassador Sharif, to discussing what she described as complex cross-border threats and maritime security in Yemen.

This meeting is the first of its kind since the start of Yemeni operations against Saudi Arabia last month and comes within a Saudi move to return to de-escalation in Yemen.

It also comes at a time when fears have escalated of entering a phase of greater escalation in the coming period, especially in light of Sana’a renewing its threat to Saudi Arabia if it does not adhere to the terms of the roadmap, which include stopping and ending the war, ending the siege, paying salaries, leaving Yemeni wealth to its people, in addition to the departure of the occupation.

The meeting reflects the scale of panic in international circles benefiting from Saudi oil, especially in light of reports about a Yemeni intention to close Bab Al-Mandeb.
