Saudi Arabia Abandons Its Largest Oil Tanker as Fires Continue to Rage in the Red Sea for the Second Day

Saudi Arabia acknowledged on Tuesday its abandonment of its largest oil tanker, as it failed to contain the fires on board for the second consecutive day.

The owner of the ship “Amzan,” which was subjected to a Yemeni attack earlier on Monday, Bahri company, stated that the crew was rescued, indicating its abandonment of the ship.

Satellite images had shown earlier today the continued burning of fires on the oil tanker for the second consecutive day.

Saudi Arabia’s decision to abandon the ship indicates that the damage on board was very significant.

The ship is the ninth to be targeted by the Yemeni forces since the latter decided to impose a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia on July 20.

The operation, in light of Saudi Arabia’s decision to abandon the ship, reveals a notable development in the course of Yemeni operations, especially as the ship was subjected, according to the official spokesman for the Yemeni forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, to an attack with only one missile.
