Several areas in the occupied West Bank witnessed attacks by settlers and Israeli forces on Wednesday, including the theft of water and Palestinian property, and the tightening of movement restrictions, coinciding with raids on residential areas, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
In the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate (central West Bank), Israeli forces fired tear gas and stun grenades at Palestinians near the Kharbatha checkpoint, west of Ramallah, causing a Palestinian vehicle to catch fire, WAFA reported.
The occupation forces have continued to close the checkpoint since October 7, 2023, hindering the movement of residents of the town and neighboring villages and forcing them to use alternative routes.
In the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, clashes erupted between Palestinian youths and Israeli forces, who fired tear gas. Local sources reported that settlers connected pipes to the main water line supplying the village in an attempt to steal the water.
Meanwhile, footage posted on social media by activists showed settlers, under the protection of Israeli forces, attacking Palestinian activists and international solidarity activists near Bethlehem (southern West Bank).
In the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron Governorate (south), local sources reported that settlers stole property belonging to Palestinians in the “Shaab al-Batim” area.
