A Russian newspaper highlights “Kheibar Shekan”: A ballistic missile nightmare draining Washington’s defenses

The international writer and political analyst Alexei Peskov revealed in an article published by the Russian newspaper “Eurasia Times” the escalating military and security concerns in Washington due to the rapidly evolving capabilities of Iranian ballistic missiles, foremost among them the “Kheibar Shekan” missile, which has become an unprecedented strategic challenge to American air defense systems in the Middle East.

Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Peskov affirmed that the missile’s danger lies in its combination of solid fuel, extreme speed exceeding 6000 mph, terminal maneuverability to confuse interception systems, in addition to its low material cost compared to traditional ballistic missiles, making it a key tool in draining expensive American defense systems such as “Patriot PAC-3” and “SM-6.”

The article explained that Iranian tactics based on integrating the launch of the maneuverable warhead “Kheibar Shekan” (weighing 550 kg and with a range of up to 2400 km) with simultaneous drone attacks impose a state of saturation and intense pressure on the limited American interceptor missile stockpiles, indicating that these developments force military planners in Washington to radically reassess the nature of the missile threat in the region.
