Russian ambassador to Riyadh exposes Saudi bets: The power equation has changed, and Sana’a has thoroughly studied confrontation scenarios

The former Russian diplomat and ambassador to Riyadh, Andrey Baklanov, affirmed that Sana’a’s field and strategic strength is today more superior and ready than ever, stressing that any traditional military strategy against the Yemenis has become futile and will only bring ruin to Saudi Arabia.

Baklanov warned the Saudi regime of the danger of being drawn into the illusions of escalation or thinking of opening a new round of confrontation, pointing out that the Yemenis have scrutinized all confrontation scenarios and possess multiple strength cards that make any military adventure a catastrophic and utterly doomed choice.

The prominent Russian diplomat stressed that the peaceful path and direct diplomatic dialogue with Sana’a represent the only way out and the only rational formula remaining for Riyadh, affirming that the possibilities for political settlement still exist and are the least costly and most effective to avoid the repercussions of confrontation.
