Saudi Confirmation That Yanbu Port Was Hit by at Least Two Missiles

Saudi Arabia confirmed on Thursday that Yanbu Port was hit, at a time when it was preparing to resume its operation.

Saudi platforms confirmed the sound of two explosions at the important port on the Red Sea.

The platforms spoke of the port being hit by at least two missiles.

Activists also circulated images of the moment one of the missiles fell near a base containing dozens of defense systems near the port.

The coalition spokesman, Turki Al-Maliki, had confirmed in a statement that the important city was subjected to an attack by those he described as the “Houthis.”

The operation in Yanbu comes within a wide target map that has hit other cities in southern and western Saudi Arabia.

Although Yanbu Port, which is the most important Saudi oil export center on the Red Sea, has previously been subjected to several operations, the latest comes as Saudi Arabia was preparing to resume pumping oil through it days after a halt due to previous strikes.

Targeting the port indicates that the goal is to disrupt it again.
