Saudi Raids Target Factions Withdrawing from Haijat Al-Abd

Saudi Arabia launched on Thursday a series of raids in the southwestern countryside of Taiz.

Local sources reported that a number of raids targeted groups of its affiliated factions in what is known as the Tur Al-Baha axis. Those groups were targeted after their withdrawal from Haijat Al-Abd, which is the strategic road linking Taiz and Aden and the last border point with Lahj.

The Saudi factions had earlier spoken of battles with those they described as the “Houthis” before confirming the loss of the confrontations.

Although the Saudi raids on its own factions are not the first of their kind, they were considered a natural reflection of Saudi Arabia’s attempt to prevent its factions from withdrawing again, forcing them to choose between suicide in confrontations or being targeted by airstrikes.

Saudi Arabia has been suffering for weeks, having lost strategic positions in the southwestern Taiz countryside as part of a series of successive defeats since the loss of Yemen’s western coast days ago.
