Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon escalated on Saturday, with airstrikes and artillery shelling in several areas, coinciding with the advance of an Israeli force to the outskirts of the town of Deir Mimas in the Marjeyoun district, according to field sources.
The sources said that Israeli fighter jets carried out raids on Sajid Heights and Jabal Al-Rafi’ Heights in the Apple region, while an Israeli force moved from the south toward the outskirts of Deir Mimas, where it took positions near olive groves.
The Deir Mimas municipality asked residents not to go to the fields and olive groves for safety reasons, amid Israeli military movements around the town, while no statement has yet been issued by the Lebanese army or the Israeli army regarding the field developments.
During the night, the Mansouri, Majdel Zoun, and Wadi Hasan areas were subjected to Israeli shelling, while the towns of Bra’shit and Haddatha witnessed strong explosions at midnight.
