Saudi raids on Al-Subayha villages west of Lahj with tribes accused of treason

On Monday, Saudi Arabia expanded the map of its raids in Yemen, specifically in the south of the country.

This comes amid a significant retreat of its factions amid fears of a new defeat.

Exclusive — Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Saudi fighter jets launched a series of raids on the villages of the Al-Subayha areas, west of Lahj.

Media outlets loyal to the coalition reported that raids targeted the Al-Aghbarah area located on the border of Taiz Governorate.

Circulated photos showed intensive raids on a mountain range overlooking the Ras Al-Arah area in central Lahj.

The targets of the raids have not become clear, but they coincided with accusations made by Youssef Al-Sharaji, the commander of the Saudi factions known as “Dira Al-Watan,” in the southwestern countryside of Taiz.

Al-Sharaji reported in a post on his page on social media platforms that a statement issued by the sheikhs of Al-Subaiha demanding its members to withdraw was the reason for the loss of important and governing positions, most notably in Al-Shamaytin District, the center of Al-Turbah.

Al-Subayha — a tribe extending along a series of border districts between Taiz and Lahj — is currently witnessing escalating disputes due to the rising toll of dead and wounded among its members in the battles of the Taiz countryside.

These disputes reached the point of Saudi Arabia launching a campaign of arrests against opponents of the war, the latest of whom is Issam Hazza, who criticized from Riyadh the adventure led by Mahmoud Al-Subayhi, accusing him of taking revenge on the members of the tribe.
