The Palestinian Cabinet warned of the continued catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip as the war nears its fourth year, amid ongoing bombardment, siege, and starvation, and a worsening malnutrition crisis, particularly among children and the elderly. It demanded guaranteed access to humanitarian aid, including tents and tarpaulins, free of charge to displaced and affected families, and called for an end to the trafficking of such aid. The Cabinet also urged the international community to translate its support for the Palestinian people into immediate action to ensure the delivery of aid, end the siege and starvation, and protect civilians.
In the same vein, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) warned of the deteriorating humanitarian situation, with escalating violence, tightened restrictions on movement, and settlement expansion. The ICRC noted the deaths, injuries, and displacement of Palestinians this year. It stressed the need to protect civilians and property and ensure access to healthcare for the sick and education for children, at a time when ambulances are facing delays at checkpoints and roadblocks.
