Saudi Arabia, Which Deliberately Bought International Silence in Yemen, Is Now Seeking Its Outcry

Saudi Arabia is once again raising the garment of humanity before the world, having bought its silence for years of its crimes in Yemen. So how has the equation changed?

Exclusive — Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

In March of the year 2015, specifically on the 26th of it, buying international silence in Yemen was the most prominent Saudi strategy in its war that had just begun. Billions of dollars were pumped at the time to buy the silence of international organizations and media outlets to avoid any shedding of light on crimes that make the forehead sweat, until it reached the point where international media outlets described the Saudi campaign as the stigma of “checkbook diplomacy,” in reference to the size of the checks that Saudi Arabia distributed to human rights parties globally.

In practice, Saudi Arabia succeeded to some extent in silencing the world about what it is doing in Yemen, and this encouraged it to bomb everything in its path and without humanitarian, moral, or even religious rules. It struck mosques, schools, and condolence halls, and didn’t even avoid children’s buses, factories, farms, and water tanks.

Yemeni cities and villages were violated in a manner unprecedented in the history of wars, and the world knew but was committed to silence. Regardless of the international position, which later changed with the depletion of the Saudi allocations and its transformation into blackmail, the equation today appears completely different. Saudi Arabia, which used to buy silence, is now seeking the outcry of the world to rescue it, and it has begun buying international lobbies to market itself as a victim, and it raises humanitarian and religious slogans such as the bombing of civilian facilities and Mecca and others, for no goal other than to draw the world’s attention to it away from the crimes it commits in Yemen.

Although the position of the countries and the entire world will not change the calculations of Sana’a, which has understood their flattery in favor of whoever pays more, the picture redraws the scene of the Saudi war on Yemen, and the latter has changed all the rules of the game from military confrontation to imposing the siege by sea and air, and finally to making Saudi Arabia lament its condition after it had been boasting of its tyranny.
