By Land… Saudi Arabia Transfers Flights of Six Destinations to Qassim With the Continued Closure of Riyadh Airport

Follow-ups — Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The Saudi “Riyadh Air” company announced the transfer of flights of six international and domestic destinations via Qassim Airport as of the 25th of this current October, within exceptional measures to deal with the continued closure of King Khalid International Airport in the capital, Riyadh.

The company explained that it will provide buses to transport travelers by land from Riyadh to Qassim Airport, to ensure their arrival to the transferred flights.

The step comes in light of the disruptions witnessed by the Saudi aviation sector, as the news indicates the continuation of the closure of King Khalid Airport for weeks, along with the halt of operations at Dammam and Abha airports, and the suspension of flights by international airlines to the Kingdom. Reports also spoke about warnings related to the safety of Saudi airspace, which pushed international flights to change their routes toward Central Asia and the vicinity of Damascus to avoid Saudi airspace.
