Amidst the rubble of destroyed homes and the tents of displaced people, dozens of cars adorned with flowers, red ribbons, and Palestinian flags traveled along the coastal road in Gaza City in a mass wedding procession. A groom emerged from one of the cars, waving joyfully, while a convoy of other grooms followed him toward the beach.
At the beachfront club where the celebration was held on Friday, 250 grooms in their formal suits gathered alongside 250 brides in white dresses embellished with colorful Palestinian embroidery and headdresses adorned with gold ornaments. Some brides covered their faces with embroidered veils, while others carried bouquets of flowers.
