The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) called for the immediate entry of winter supplies and heavy equipment into the Gaza Strip, warning that heavy rains and strong winds are exacerbating the humanitarian crisis there and exposing displaced people to grave dangers.
Extensive damage to shelters
In a statement, OCHA said that heavy rains and strong winds have flooded shelters in the Gaza Strip, and that Palestinians displaced by Israeli attacks are facing serious risks.
The statement called for the immediate entry of winter supplies destined for Gaza, as well as engine oil and spare parts needed to operate heavy machinery used in humanitarian work and generators.
