The UAE-backed southern transitional council (STC)’s militias intensified on Thursday their military deployment in Yemeni Socotra island, local sources said.
The sources said that the southern transitional militiamen reinforced their military checkpoints by several elements in Haybaq and Mouri districts.
The southern militants transferred anti-aircraft weapons, military equipment and pick-up vehicles from one of the villages of Hadebbo district to the city, the sources added.
The new moves come due to the tension among Riyadh and Abo Dhabi in the recent period.
