Swarms of Unidentified Drones Cause Panic Among Emirati Forces in Socotra

The Emirati forces in the Yemeni island of Socotra witnessed a state of terror against the backdrop of unidentified drones flying over the island, local sources reported.

The sources said that the people of Hadibo city, the capital of the island, were surprised by the firing of air defenses, before they knew that there were attempts to shoot down a drone that was hovering over the island, east of the Gulf of Aden.

The sources suggested that it was a reconnaissance plane to assess the level and quality of air defenses maintained by the coalition forces on the island of Socotra, 240 kilo meters away from the nearest point on the Yemeni mainland.

The coalition forces are currently in a state of alert after the drone flew over the island, according to the sources.

The Yemeni Island of Socotra has become more like a military complex for various formations of the coalition forces, including the Israelis as well as the Saudis and Emiratis, while the UAE alone controls the administration of the island after the expulsion of the pro-coalition government forces from the island in June 2020.
