Closure of Israeli ports on the Red Sea, and a prominent director admits “Houthis” control the Mediterranean

Today, the Israeli occupation government admitted that Sana’a had implemented a naval blockade all the way to the Mediterranean Sea.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Israeli economic website Globes quoted Gideon Galbar, the director of the Eilat Port, one of the prominent ports of the occupation on the Red Sea, stating that what he described as “Houthi threats” have affected all ships, including those passing through to the Mediterranean Sea and Eilat.

Galbar confirmed that ship movement has completely stopped in the port of Eilat, while the port administration prepares to lay off workers, close the port gates due to reduced activity, and divert import activities to Haifa.

The closure of the Eilat Port is among the alternative Israeli options to escape the blockade imposed by Sana’a from the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait to the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. Israeli shipping companies had previously announced changing the course of its shipping lines away from the waters surrounding Yemen, despite the longer distance. Additionally, the occupation government issued tenders for air freight companies for the first time in the history of the occupation.
