The general authority of civil aviation and meteorology condemns the Israeli aggression on Sana’a

The General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology of the Republic of Yemen condemned the Israeli aggression this evening that directly targeted Sana’a International Airport, which resulted in the destruction of civilian aircraft and passenger terminals, in addition to causing serious damage to the runway and vital facilities.

Follow ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The Authority said that the attack comes at a time when the airport only serves a single humanitarian destination to the Jordanian capital, Amman, confirming the occupation’s disregard for all international laws and norms and their pursuit of a policy of collective punishment against the Yemeni people because of their solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

The Authority pointed out that this attack is not the first of its kind but rather an extension of a long series of repeated targeting, whether by the Saudi-Emirati aggression or the Israeli aggression, which launched a similar attack on the airport on December 26, 2024, as part of a systematic campaign to destroy the civil aviation infrastructure in Yemen.

The Authority stressed that this bombardment will not deter it from carrying out its national and professional duties and that the technical and engineering teams have started implementing an emergency plan to repair the damage and reopen the airport as soon as possible, noting that Sana’a Airport is no longer just a civilian facility but a symbol of Yemeni steadfastness that knows no defeat.

The Authority held the “Zionist, American, and British” aggression fully responsible for this aggression, calling on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the United Nations to take a clear position on the direct and systematic targeting of civil aviation in Yemen for more than a decade.
