After detention and torture, the occupation forces released 5 prisoners from Gaza

Israeli occupation forces released five Palestinian prisoners from the Gaza Strip on Sunday evening. These prisoners had been arrested after October 7, 2023, and had endured harsh detention conditions and torture in Israeli prisons.

The released prisoners were immediately transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah for treatment, accompanied by staff from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Their health had deteriorated as a result of the abuse they suffered during their detention.

The ICRC stated that its teams facilitated the release of the five detainees from Israeli prisons and confirmed their arrival at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the central Gaza Strip.

The release of the prisoners comes amidst the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023. This aggression has included widespread arrest campaigns accompanied by grave violations, including torture and ill-treatment of Palestinian detainees, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
