Iran denies its boats were sunk in the Strait of Hormuz

Iran categorically denied on Monday the American claims about the US Navy sinking a number of Iranian boats in the Strait of Hormuz.

Exclusive Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Official Iranian television quoted a high-ranking military official as describing the American announcement as lies and baseless allegations within a “psychological and media war” waged by Washington.

The military official said that what was circulated in American media about targeting or sinking Iranian boats “doesn’t correspond to reality.”

He affirmed that his country’s forces haven’t recorded any losses of this kind in the waterway during the period in question.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) had claimed that it sank a number of Iranian boats in the Strait of Hormuz during the confrontation that occurred between the two sides today, following the failure of its forces’ attempt to forcibly cross the Strait of Hormuz due to the Iranian fire response.
