Cars are the primary means of transportation in Gaza

Horse-drawn carts have replaced cars on the streets of the Gaza Strip and become the primary means of transportation for Palestinians due to the fuel crisis and shortage of spare parts.

With Israel continuing to close the crossings and impose restrictions on the entry of essential goods, this crisis has exacerbated the suffering of the population and further limited their freedom of movement.

Palestinians readily resort to this rudimentary means of transport, which alleviates some of the suffering caused by the war.

These vehicles are also used to transport the wounded and dead from the sites of Israeli airstrikes to hospitals, given their increasing numbers amidst the “massacres” that the Ministry of Health says Israel is committing against civilians in the Gaza Strip, and the shortage of ambulances, which have also been systematically targeted by Israel, according to the ministry.
