First Iranian response to the latest American attack

Iran considered the recent American military strikes on its territory to be a serious violation of Articles 1 and 2 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that the subsequent American operations violate the memorandum’s terms, also affirming that the lifting of the exemption on Iranian oil sale sanctions constitutes a flagrant violation of Article 10, which stipulates the issuance of necessary permits for Iranian oil sales.

In this context, the Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the US Treasury Department’s decision to lift the temporary suspension of sanctions on Iranian oil sales, considering the announcement of the revocation of the general license issued on June 21 to be a new indicator of bad faith, instability, and the unreliability of the American administration, warning of the consequences of Washington’s breach of its commitments.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry affirmed that Tehran would take any action it deems necessary to safeguard its interests and national security in response to these developments.
