Iran: We Took Control of the Strait of Hormuz by Force and Will Maintain It by Force

The spokesman for the National Security Committee of the Iranian Parliament, Ebrahim Rezaei, affirmed on Sunday that Iran “has taken control of the Strait of Hormuz by force and will maintain it by force.”

Special Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Rezaei’s statements came as his country was subjected to a campaign of American military strikes following Iran’s announcement of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, to which Iran responded by bombing American military sites and bases in 5 countries in the region.

The Revolutionary Guard Navy announced yesterday the temporary closure of the Strait of Hormuz to navigation until further notice, linking its reopening to the end of American interventions in the region.

Tehran affirmed that the management of navigation in the strait will be confined to Iran and the Sultanate of Oman, while the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baghaei, announced that Tehran and Muscat have agreed to continue consultations to reach a common understanding regarding ensuring the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
