A source in the Sana’a negotiating delegation affirmed that any announcement of opening flights to Sana’a International Airport is a welcome step, provided it comes within a clear agreement with the competent authorities in Sana’a, ensuring the complete end of guardianship over Yemen, and without subjection to any restrictions or preconditions.
Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The source explained in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the fundamental and firm demand of the Yemeni people is to open the airport to all international destinations without exception.
The source described the recent announcement (referring to what the Jordanian television announced regarding the completion of “Royal Jordanian’s” procedures to resume its flights to Sana’a) as attempts to bypass the just sovereign demands, saying: “These attempts aim to bypass the Yemeni people’s demands with formal steps that can stop at any turn and under any pretext, and be used for blackmail and bargaining as soon as the Saudi regime calls.”
The source added: “We are completely tired of this conduct, and we demand a comprehensive agreement to open the airport without any restriction or condition. After that, whoever wants to operate flights to Sana’a, we welcome them according to specific arrangements with the competent authorities in Sana’a.”
He stressed that fragmenting solutions or providing temporary painkillers is no longer acceptable to the leadership in Sana’a, indicating that the Yemeni side will not remain hostage to Riyadh’s dictates or decisions and positions that can be revoked at any moment.
The source concluded his statement by affirming that the political and negotiating vision of Sana’a now includes legitimate rights as a single package, affirming that “the matter is no longer limited to the airport file alone, but to all humanitarian files, foremost among them the payment of salaries of all Yemeni employees and other humanitarian files,” which represent a legal and humanitarian entitlement that is non-negotiable.
