Official closure of the Bab Al-Mandeb

Yemen announced on Monday the official closure of the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait, marking a shift in the confrontation with Saudi Arabia.

The Yemeni Armed Forces confirmed in a statement by its official spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the imposition of a naval navigation ban on Saudi Arabia, effective today.

The statement considered the step as the application of the principle of reciprocity, “siege for siege.”

The Yemeni forces affirmed their full readiness for all options, warning the Saudi enemy against any follies through comprehensive escalation, vowing a harsh and comprehensive response.

The statement renewed its call to all Yemeni people for mobilization and preparation for all scenarios and developments, and to support the fronts with fighters.

The Armed Forces began their new statement by reviewing the extent of Yemen’s suffering due to the Saudi enemy’s plundering of wealth and the siege, in addition to highlighting the million-man turnout on the “Friday of Warning and Mobilization.”
