Oil rises amid growing American concern over the Houthis’ next move in Bab Al-Mandeb

Oil prices resumed their rise globally on Tuesday amid a return of American concerns regarding developments in the Red Sea.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Oil prices exceeded the $92 per barrel barrier in recent trading for the first time in weeks.

The return of the gradual rise in oil comes amid several developments in the Middle East, the main source and producer of oil.

Most prominent among these developments are the escalating American concerns regarding Yemeni arrangements in the Red Sea.

American media continued to highlight developments in Bab Al-Mandeb.

The Wall Street Journal quoted its sources as saying that those it describes as the “Houthis” have completed arrangements in the Red Sea by deploying missile systems and drones in overlooking positions, in preparation for a new phase of escalation.

The newspaper claimed that American intelligence had monitored calls discussing a list of Saudi targets and vital Saudi facilities that may be on the new target list.

The US has been living with the Red Sea obsession for two days, as news networks, most notably Fox News, have published successive statements by officials at the White House and the US State Department, all revealing fears of a new phase of Yemeni escalation in the most important maritime passages in the Gulf.

These developments come as Yemen’s decision to ban Saudi navigation enters its fifth week, with a quantitative and qualitative escalation in the pace of attacks by land and sea.
